Terms of Service
1. What this site is
DrPrison.com is a free reading site — articles, a weekly newsletter, and first-person stories about the United States federal prison system. There is no account, no login, no purchase. These terms govern your use of the reading side of Dr. Prison. If you engage our paid services, see the separate DrPrison.org Terms.
2. Not legal advice
Everything on this site is general information. It is not legal advice and it does not create an attorney-client relationship. If you need legal advice, retain a licensed attorney.
3. Newsletter subscription
Subscribing to Inside Out is free. You can unsubscribe any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any issue, or by emailing help@drprison.org. We don't share subscriber emails with third parties.
4. Acceptable use
Don't scrape the site to rebuild it elsewhere. Don't submit fraudulent email addresses to the newsletter. Don't use our content for commercial purposes without permission (non-commercial reuse with attribution is fine — see §5).
5. Copyright & reuse
Unless otherwise noted, our original content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0). That means you can quote, reuse, and translate it for non-commercial purposes with attribution to Dr. Prison and a link back to the original. For commercial reuse, email help@drprison.org.
6. No warranty
The site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We try to be accurate; we sometimes get things wrong; corrections policy is in Transparency.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site with the new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
