Funding
DrPrison.com is free to read. It's funded by two things: (1) TheraPetic, a nonprofit, covers the editorial operating costs; (2) our sister site DrPrison.org generates revenue from consultation services and passes operating surplus back to the free side. We do not currently accept advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate commissions on this site. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here.
Editorial Independence
The editorial team sets the newsletter agenda and the guide roadmap. We don't take assignment topics from DrPrison.org's service operations. If we cover a policy area where DrPrison.org sells a related service, we disclose it at the top of the piece.
Corrections Policy
If we get something wrong, we correct it publicly. Substantive corrections get a visible note at the top of the affected piece, dated, describing what changed and why. Typo fixes and minor copy edits do not get a note. To report a factual error: help@drprison.org.
AI Disclosure
Our newsletter composition pipeline uses large language models to draft and summarize. A human editor reviews and approves every issue before publication. Guides and stories are human-written; AI tools are used only for copy-editing and fact-checking assistance on those pieces.
We Are Not A Law Firm
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We're journalists and coaches, not attorneys. When you need legal advice, retain a licensed attorney. We'll gladly refer you to a defender's office or a private attorney if you tell us what you need.
